Gorgeous Smoky Colour!
This flashy, clump-forming perennial creates a scorching display with masses of large, dark red flowers that seem to explode open atop a canopy of palm-shaped leaves. Wiry stems rise above the foliage, each tipped with a rounded flower head set in a cup of bracts. An excellent cut flower, as the flowers remain attractive even after they're spent. Equally gorgeous dried or placed in borders, astrantia is a wonderful woodland plant, blooming all summer long as it attracts butterflies to your garden.
